Hypnosis is a very powerful and beneficial therapeutic tool. It is an altered state of consciousness like meditation or Yoga, but the difference is that in a hypnotic state you take an active and positive role on making a change in the belief systems buried deep in your unconscious mind.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and single-pointed concentration. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and no one can be induced into a hypnotic state against his or her will. You allow yourself to be guided into hypnosis and you remain in control at all times. You always know what is happening and you are aware of sitting in my chair and, of course, you can come out at any time by opening your eyes.
Will I lose control without knowing it?
Hypnotists do not possess the power to control other people's minds. They guide you into deep relaxation so that you can access your unconscious mind. In this state you are not constrained by the inhibitions which normally prevent you from accessing you inner thoughts and feelings. If you don't want to reveal things that are private, you won't.
Can I be made to do some thing against my will?
Hollywood notwithstanding, any suggestion contrary to your inner convictions will either be ignored by you, or you will come out of the hypnotic state.
What about those performers on TV and stage?
The stage hypnotist has contributed to the image of hypnosis as a 'trance', 'sleeplike' or 'out-of-this-world'. In fact the opposite is true: under hypnosis all your five senses are heightened.
How does hypnosis work?
Under hypnosis all outside distractions are eliminated and your attention is focused on my voice. It is this profound concentration that permits my suggestions to guide you into your unconscious. The principal reason for its use is that under hypnosis you become aware of your present thought/behavioral patterns, and I guide and adopt new, desired and beneficial ones.
Can I be stuck in a hypnotic state?
Nobody has, since it is the person being hypnotized who actually induces himself through his own convictions. Just as a person cannot be hypnotized against his own will, he can bring himself out in a split second.
There are many reasons that hypnosis can be beneficial. You can be assured that anything you write or tell me will be treated with the strictest confidence. Hypnotherapy can be used to help you with any problem you may be facing. Most commonly, it is used to treat psychosomatic disorders. These are emotional and mental states that eventually cause physical symptoms. Putting it simpler, hypnotherapy is used to treat the root of the problem. It is not merely a method of soothing the physical symptoms.
If you feel like you need to let go of negative thoughts and actions, as well as any form of emotional suffering, hypnotherapy can assist you in doing so. I can aid you in putting down the overwhelming baggage of addiction, pain, and heartache. Relaxing and trusting in the process is of utmost importance.
